Photos: iHeartRadio Z100 Jingle Ball 2017

The iHeartRadio z100 Jingle Ball is one of those events that I always look forward to every year, just like the iHeartRadio Festival. This show's annual stop at Madison Square Garden always features a great lineup of some of the biggest names in music.

It would be a thrill shooting any one of these acts on a single night, but getting to photograph them all in a single night is an even bigger rush. Here are some of my favorite shots of the night's performers, including Ed Sheeran, the Chainsmokers, Sam Smith, Halsey, Fall Out Boy, G-Easy, Demi Lovato, Logic, Charlie Puth, Niall Horan, Camila Cabello, Liam Payne, and Julia Michaels

I used the Nikon D850 for all about 99% of these shots, mostly because this was one of the first big shoots I did with the D850. I really wanted to test put the D850 through its paces, and this event was great test.

Having used the Nikon D500, I knew that the autofocus of the D850 was going to be up to the task, and it did not disappoint. What's more, the wider spread of the AF points in the D850's viewfinder makes it a big improvement over the D750 for me. I am always pushing the AF point to the edges/corners of the frame, and the wider coverage is something that I LOVE about the D850.

I was around ISO 3200 all night, and here the Nikon D850 did a fantastic job. It's really amazing to see the amount of detail that the D850 captures, and needless to say, there's no going back.

Recently I've completed my kit of two D850 bodies, as I always like to shoot with two identical bodies when I cover concerts, so my bag is set for quite a while.
