Rolling into the Pageant with a big dose of Red Dirt , Oklahoma's Cross Canadian Ragweed brought the party with a two-hour set of Southern Rock and party-time atmosphere.

Photographer's Notes:

For Cross Canadian Ragweed's set, I used my f/1.4 primes almost exclusively. Light was low, so I shot mostly wide open at ISO 3200.

There were no time limits for Cross Canadian Ragweed, so if you're looking for a show to flex a little bit, experiment, and take your time with some images, this show is a good one to photograph.

While the band was set back a few feet from the edge  of the stage and hemmed in by monitors, singer Cody Canada did make a point of coming out from behind the mic nearly every other song, which made for multiple opportunities to photograph him up close and personal. Of course, multiple passes were most welcome, as there was very little frontlighting during these quick passes.

Overall, lighting was atmospheric and relatively dim; but the band put on such a fun performance that I happily shot half their set and enjoyed the luxury of the added time.
