Taking the stage nearly a full hour late and playing for just an hour – including the encore – Courtney Love seemed to live up to Rolling Stone's title of “the most controversial woman in the history of rock.” Or if not controversial, we'll go with tardy. But, as my friend Amy tweeted, “Only played an hour. Damn. Good hour though.”
Photographer's Notes:
With Love's mic stand set up several feet back from the edge of the stage and angling back to put the singer even farther back, Hole was a shoot dominated by the telephoto for me.
Courtney Love didn't do much moving during this three-song shoot, so the most interesting thing to photograph was Love's expressions, and for this the new Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 was the perfect lens.
