June 25, 2009 – The Avett Brothers brought their bluegrass and folk-tinged rock show to the Pageant, delighting a wildly enthusiastic crowd with a 90 minute set that had fans on their feet and begging for more.

June 17, 2009 – As previously reported, Craig Finn of the Hold Steady is a fantastically dynamic subject, a representative fact made clear as the Brooklyn five-piece as they opened for Dave Matthews Band.

The photo pit is a brutal place.

In a hometown show at the Pageant in St. Louis, post-hardcore rockers Story of the Year delivered a highly kinetic set that had the house floor heaving.

June 18, 2009 – Touring with Jimmy Wayne and Dierks Bentley on the American Saturday Night Tour 2009, country singer Brad Paisley brought the party to full tilt with a lively and lighthearted set.

June 18, 2009 – Opening up for Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley defied the 100º+ heat index to deliver an aerobic set that saw the country singer bounding over the length of the stage and making ample use of the tour’s three ramps.

June 17, 2009 – Returning to St. Louis on their annual summer tour, Dave Matthews Band laid into an epic set of lush lights and a big sound that had crowd on their feet.

A 20″ x 30″ print signed by Dave Matthews Band, which was used as the cover art for a live recording recorded at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

Last September, Dave Matthews Band licensed one of my images to use as the album cover for one of their live recordings. A few days ago, out of the blue, my lovely Live Nation representatives surprised me by arranging for a signing with the band before their concert this week.

June 10, 2009 – When Steven Tyler is on the catwalk, bends down, and starts singing directly to you, one fact is made simple and abundantly clear: this is a pretty good gig.

June 14, 2009 – Touring in support of her sophomore solo album, Acid Tongue, Jenny Lewis played a soulful show to an enraptured audience at the Pageant.

June 13, 2009 – Led by the ever vehement Tim McIlrath, Rise Against closed down the night with a fiery set after stellar sets by Rancid and the Riverboat Gamblers.

June 10, 2009 – Opening up for Aerosmith on the Guitar Hero tour opener, Mississippi’s 3 Doors Down started off the evening with a big dose of no-frills rock – just a taste of the spectacle that followed.

The new Nooka Zirc NT arrived last week, thanks to the ever-gracious Matthew Waldman and the fine folks at Nooka. With it’s black on black details, I think it’s a watch any ninja – or concert photographer – would love.

Just a few shots of Darius Rucker, most well known as the frontman for the rock band Hootie & The Blowfish, as he stretched out in his cowboy boots opening up for Rascal Flatts.
