Before Queensryche took the stage for their 30th anniversary celebration tour, Ireland's The Voodoos rocked the house for a standing ovation by many fans. I'd never caught these guys before, but I'm glad I came early – they put on a great performance.

This was an ISO 2500, 1/160 at f/2.8 kind of show. The kind of show where the overall light levels didn't change hugely when the lights were up, but which still had just enough variety to keep things interesting. Like Queensryche that followed, The Voodoos received a backlight-heavy treatment, with much brighter lights at the back than the front.
Singer Mark Daly in particular is a fantastic subject, and easily the most animated member of the band. While the other guys play it cool, Daly lays it all out on the stage and really wails on vox. Great stage presence.
