Returning to the Pageant for the second time in i2011, Skrillex upped the ante with a huge production, at the heart of which was a projected avatar that was animated in real-time to mimic the DJ's every motion.

This was a really cool production and arguably the best for a DJ that I've seen. Skrillex was wearing a motion capture suit that allowed the animation behind him to capture every twist and turn of his body. Very cool stuff, and perfect for this sort of performance.
In terms of shooting, Skrillex was pushed back to the rear of the stage, so extreme close-ups on him were a limited option. Instead, I found that the atmosphere was the best thing to shoot at this gig, from the crowd at the front of the barricade to stage-wide shots showing off the elaborate backdrop they had for Skrillex.
