Opening up for Lupe Fiasco on the Generation Laser Tour, The New Boyz, Sarah Green and Young Marqus warmed up the crowd with tight performances all around. While singer Sarah Green easily had the best lighting, I have to say that The New Boyz's high-energy performance was one of the highlights of all the openers even in spite of tricky stage lighting.

Cameras Used:
- Nikon D3
- Nikon D700
Lenses Used:
Overall, the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 on the Nikon D700 proved to be the best lens for the relatively low stage for this show.
Lighting was pretty decent for Lupe Fiasco's openers. First up was Young Marqus, who was bathed in yellow for most of the first three songs. Sarah Green received a pretty nice treatment with spotlights and just enough accents in the back to keep things interesting.
The New Boyz had some rough lighting, but their energetic set was still so fun that I had to forgive their unphotogenic treatment. I think it just goes to show that stage presence can trump bad lighting.
Stay tuned for the full set from Lupe Fiasco, coming up next.
