Rock, glorious lighting and hair whips: This is what My Morning Jacket brought in their sold-out show at the Pageant, and in that order.
From a production standpoint, this was a beautiful show to watch, with a large array of lights on the sides of the stage and in the ceiling rig. In terms of photography, this show was a little tricky, but with the changes slow and predictable enough that the shooting was great overall.
Photographer's Notes:
Cameras Used:
- Nikon D3
- Nikon D700
Lenses Used:
While My Morning Jacket started off pretty dark in terms of the lighting treatment, the production seemed to explode a couple songs in with a beautiful use of the large arrays on stage. Overall, there was lots of back and side lighting that combined for a very lush look.
Gear-wise, the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 and Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 were a perfect combo on the full-frame Nikon D3 and Nikon D700 cameras.
