Backed only by a guitarist, Matt Pond opened the night for Ben Folds with a spare and intimate set in the big hall of the Chaifetz Arena.

Singer Matt Pond was an interesting challenge. Lights weren't super bright given the capabilities of the Chaifetz Arena, but still no problem for f/2.8 lenses. ISO 3200 and a shutter speed of around 1/125 did the trick.
For lenses, I used the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 and Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 in tandem; there was a generous photo pit and a good amount of room to move around the stationary singer, so this was a pretty easy shoot.
First three, no flash.
