For me, the above lead image of Kandi is just one of those images that make a concert immediately fulfilling as a music photographer. The right pose, the right lighting, and the skill, experience, and luck to capture it all.
I'm not saying I wouldn't have minded some beautiful haze and more backlighting, but Kandi worked all the resources opening for Fantasia at the Fabulous Fox.

This was a pretty basic shoot, as Kandi was primarily lit by spotlights with only very minimal accent lighting from behind. I'm very thankful that there was that touch of backlighting, though, as it provided a really nice bit of color to Kandi's hair in the lead photo and a few others in this set.
