Co-headlining with David Cook at the Pageant, Gavin DeGraw brought a confident performance to the stage that had the house roaring. Splitting time between delivering vocals on piano and free on an upright mic, DeGraw's charisma came at all stations and made this aun shoot.
Photographer's Notes:
Cameras Used:
- Nikon D3
- Nikon D700
Lenses Used:
I shot this show between ISO 1600 and ISO 3200 and used my f/2.8 zooms exclusively. Light wasn't extremely bright, but nor was it dark enough to be much of a concern, either. Not with the nice performance of the Nikon D3 and D700, anyway.
The only really dim lighting occurred at the very start of the set, when Gavin DeGraw came out and was almost entirely backlight by several focused beams of light. While it was difficult to capture, the light lit up dust in the air and made for a very cool effect.
This shot was made at 1/40 at ISO 4000 and f/2.8 with the Nikon D700 and Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8.
