I've grown to really love shooting EDM (electronic dance music) shows over the last two years, and Bassnectar has definitely been a part of that shift. I first shot Bassnectar on his spring 2011 tour, so when I heard that he was now rocking arenas a year later, I was eager to see how Lorin Ashton's show had changed.

This show was different from the last Bassnectar show in a few ways. For one, it was held in the Chaifetz Arena instead of the Pageant club, so there was a big change in the scale of the event.
Another change was that I only shot this show with one camera: the Nikon D800. This was a chance from the usual Nikon D3 and Nikon D700 that I usually shoot with. For a show with this pace, the D800 did just fine, 36 megapixel and all. I'm working on my full review of the Nikon D800, but in the meantime, I can say that this camera does just fine for gigs.
