It can be hard to gauge how a band's touring production can translate from one venue to the next. Having seen a handful of images from Awolnation's 2012 tour, I knew that the band was coming with a big lightup logo and a few LED arrays at the back of the stage, but beyond that, it was all up in the air. To my surprise, the band's tour rig blended perfectly with the house lights at Pop's for a very thick, atmospheric treatment for the sold out crowd.

This came as a slight surprise, but Awolnation's Aaron Bruno moves around a lot on stage. With a mic in hand, he was all over the place at Pop's, from center stage and back near the drum riser to crowd surfing and practically leaning over the monitors at the front of the stage. Fun – and difficult – to photograph.
Lighting was surprisingly nice, with a really lush, moody treatment that was still full of color (even if that color was mostly magenta). The tour's lighting came in the form of just a couple of LED arrays, nothing heavy, which just goes to show how well a simple setup can combine with house lights for fantastic effect.
