August Burns Red have built a reputation as one of the best acts to see on Warped Tour 2011, and with good reason. Their performances simply burst with intensity. Alongside other tour heavyweights like The Devil Wears Prada and A Day For Tomorrow, August Burns Red played the Teggart Stage to a throng of fans that tore up the asphalt during the band's set.
After shooting a portrait of the band back in 2009, this was actually the first time I caught them live. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed.

Cameras Used:
- Nikon D3

This show was great to photograph. You have to appreciate the energy a band like August Burns Red brings to the stage with every show like this, even in the August heat. One small thing that stood out from the band's show was their bright red stage backdrop, which really made for a nice pop in images.
The Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 was just about the perfect lens for covering this show, though the 70-200mm f/2.8 VR was essential for shots of drummer Matt Greiner at the back of the stage. While this is one show were the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 could have made an appearance, 24mm on full-frame was still wide enough to cover pretty much all of the action.
If August Burns Red are coming to a venue near you, don't hesitate to grab a ticket, a photo pass, or whatever you need to make it happen. Great, great show.
