After high energy performances by Cobra Starship, The Maine, and VersaEmerge, Boys Like Girls finished off the Love Drunk Tour with the perfect pop-punk touchdown that had the sold-out crowd pogoing out of their neon.
Photographer's Notes:
After a night of punishing lighting, Boys Like Girls topped off the night with the brightest lights of the night. Still, the set was punctuated with lots of short-duration, high-intensity lighting, which of course is always a nice challenge.
Singer Martin Johnson, for the most part, just rocked the mic. With the straight-up style of mic stand, shooting angles were more limited for the frontman.
My favorite shot of the night came when guitarist Paul DiGiovanni jumped up on one of the risers stage left, just in time to be blasted by a side light and the uplighting from the riser. A quick spin of the dials and then DiGiovanni was gone.
I shot this set with the standard three f/2.8 zooms in my bag: the Nikok 14-24, 24-70, and 70-200.
