Did you use or try building a template page to insert the code into?

Hey Will, this page uses a template page without a sidebar to house the iframe. I didn’t know building a template that had the original HTML was actually an option. Inserting the .swf file is easy enough, but it’s letting the swf talk to the xml gallery database that makes it difficult.
That’s a very strong portfolio Todd! Excellent work.

Todd and Carsten: Thanks for the kind words. I plan on revising my book with a few new shows; in a month’s time, after the Vegoose Festival, hopefully I can add Iggy Pop to this page.

Hey Jeff, thanks very much. Just added a new shot from the Drive-By Truckers show, though it meant bumping Tony Bennett. I’m trying to follow my own suggestions in the sequencing of this collection.
Really nice work. It’s amazing!
I have a question though. When I do photos at concerts the photos always come out sort of fuzzy. The colors are good but I see your photos are exactly what the eye sees. Do you have any tips on making my photos sharper?
I’d try increasing your shutter speed as high as the light will allow you. I usually try to stay above about 1/80 if possible to counteract movement in the subject, but the real threshold depends on how active the band is. Also, the focal length will play a role – the wider the angle, the slower shutter speed you can get away with in regards to perceived blur.
Hope this helps, please let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for stopping by!
Todd, great set of photographs - inspiring, actually. You clearly engage strongly with your subjects and can anticipate the right moment. My favourite is the third shot, of the drummer silencing his cymbals. Terrific.
Hey Louis, thanks very much. I just updated the portfolio a few hours ago to include that shot of Brian Viglione, so I’m very glad to hear you approve of the addition. Brian puts on the best performance of any drummer I’ve had the opportunity to see and photograph. And he’s a super nice guy, too!

Thanks, Will. After trying various more complicated approaches, inserting the original HTML with an iframe was the easiest solution.

Really nice work. You certainly get great results. I wouldn’t mind trying some concert photography myself sometime.
