October 19, 2008 – Led by Chris Carrabba, Dashboard Confessional thrilled fans with performances of crowd-pleasers like “Screaming Infidelities,” “Stolen,” and “Thick As Thieves” at Rock Band Live 2008.

Photographer’s Notes:
This was a really straight forward shoot. After The Plain White T’s set and its great light, I was wondering what the rest of the event would bring. As luck would have it, the lighting for Dashboard Confessional was pretty nice, with a welcome spotlight on singer Chris Carrabba and lots of bright color washes over the background.
Dashboard’s set also made use of vertical lighting accents on the sides of the stage, which provide a nice graphic feel to some of the shots.
Carrabba was a relatively easy target for this show, as the he spent most of the first two songs planted firmly at his mic stand due to his singing duties.
With only two songs to shoot, I concentrated mostly on the frontman, though pickingup a few shots here and there wasn’t too difficult, either.
End Notes:
That’s it for Rock Band Live 2008. Check out the sets from Panic At The Disco and The Plain White T’s if you haven’t already!

Hi Mike, thanks. I didn’t shoot as much during Dashboard Confessional’s set as I did for The Plain White T’s and Panic At The Disco, but the lighting was great for these guys.

Hey Laura, thank you. That shot you mention was probably when the lights were at their most colorful during the first three songs. The frontlighting went way down, but the background exploded!

Cool set. I really like Dashboard and think that “Dusk and Summer” was a great album. Haven’t listened much to “The Shade of Poison Trees” - I’m afraid to ruin what I think about them.
I like 1 and 2, as well as this . 2 is really epic with its back wash. I really love his grey corduroy fedora, too.

Hi there,
I am the Production Manager and FOH engineer for Dashboard Confessional. I am looking for some shots to send to a microphone company that endorses us, and like some of the shots that you took. How can I go about getting some Hi Res files from you.
Thanks… Mike Fanuele
