Hey Chris, thanks for your picks on this one. Sick Puppies are really a fun band to photograph, I'm bummed I missed their live show at Pointfest.

Sick puppies

Sorry to be so far behind on your posts -- school is gettin ready to catch up and I haven't been here as much as I should have! I really dig 1, 7 and 8. Great job on getting the drummer, and 8 is ridiculous. Love that angle, and Emma is even in it slamming her head. Nice work!

Hey Tim, thanks for the question. I positioned the remote flash on the stage, nothing fancy. No stands or anything like that.

Hey Mike,

The setup for every shot changed, but in most of these you'll see that the key is camera-left, while the commander and fill flash is on-camera. Hope this helps.

Hey Todd, great shots as always, would you mind posting a rough sketch of where you place you flashes? I've been shooting a lot of shows and try to not use flash as much as possible and when I do it's just one SB-800, on camera. Do you have problems getting access to place off camera flashes?

Hey Joe, thanks for the comment. These guys put on a great show, don't they? I would have loved a little extra light for this gig, as the stage lighting was so dim. Sometimes you just have to break out the flashes.

Great work as always, I shot these guys 3 nights before in Idaho during the sunset. nice use of flash, sometimes it sure makes all the difference when you can get away with it.
