Barry still knows how to shake it.
I’m working through the images from the inaugural concert by Barry Manilow at the Chaifetz Arena, but here’s a little taste of the action from the soundboard.
Stay tuned for the full set.

Awesome shot man, what lens did you use from the soundboard?

Hey Chris, thanks. This was shot with the Nikon 300mm f/2.8 and the Nikon 1.7x teleconveter.
I used a monopod with this combination, which is borderline hand-holdable, but it would have killed my arm for three songs. Since I had the Rock, Rap, and Rawhide event the next day, I opted for the support.

I totally need to get myself a blue sparkle jacket like that.

Barry rocked this suit jacket like nothing else. He had some wardrobe changes, but I like this opening look the best.

Do women still throw their underwear on stage at him?
& if so, please tell me you’ve got a picture of it.

Considering you were at the soundboard…awesome. Spoken from a fan perspective, I’ve seen FRONT ROW photos that aren’t as nice as this one. Looking forward to the rest.

Thanks very much, Kimberly. I should be posting the rest of the shots this Wednesday or Thursday. I’ll shoot you a link when they’re up, it’s always great to hear from the fans of the artists I photograph.

I’ll admit that I’ve seen Barry Manilow. I’ll admit that he put on an entertaining show.

Ha! The man’s an entertainer, through and through, no doubt.
